Certificate IV in Digital Media Technologies (ICT40815)
The recommended Certificate IV study plan has the following key features:

The recommended study plan will take a new student with no previous website development/digital media
experience 12 months to complete.

There is a focus on creating digital media such as vector graphics using Adobe Illustrator, 3D modelling using
3DS Max and video production.

A focus on the development of website content using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite including Illustrator,
InDesign and Photoshop.

There is a focus on website development with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript and Content Management
Systems using WordPress.
WorkReady

WorkReady is a State Government initiative providing subsidies to support students to complete certain
qualifications.
 This course is subsidised under WorkReady
 There are eligibility criteria for receiving WorkReady subsidy.

ALL STUDENTS IRRESPECTIVE OF PREVIOUS STUDIES WILL BE REQUIRE TO DO THE CORE SKILLS

3WHS
This subject involves participation in workplace Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) consultative
processes.
4CEP
This subject involves maintaining professional and ethical conduct as well as to ensure that personal
information of stakeholders is handled in a confidential and professional manner when dealing with
stakeholders in an information technology (IT) environment.
4HTML5
This subject covers the usage and integration of HTML5 and CSS 3. Students will create an interactive
website from scratch by coding using the technologies mentioned above.
5DIW
This subject is concerned with following the path from taking a digital image, downloading it and then
manipulating that image to meet requirements. It examines the qualities of digital cameras, how to
photograph images, and then using Adobe Photoshop to manipulate those images to be used in a
variety of applications, such as online media and print media.
4CMS
This subject covers the usage and integration of HTML5 & CSS 3 using a CMS (Content Management
System) WordPress. Students will create an interactive website to a given specification using an
authoring tool by coding using the technologies mentioned above.
4WDM
This subject investigates the skills and knowledge required to work effectively as an individual or in a
team environment in the digital media industries.
4VGC
This subject builds the skills and knowledge required to create visual design components for interactive
media using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.

This subject covers the skills and knowledge required to design, build and create 3-D gaming models
using 3D Studio Max.
4DVP
This subject involves the set up and operation of digital video cameras and equipment for use in small
media productions. The core aim of the subject is to develop in students the creative, practical, critical
and collaborative skills necessary to pursue an interest or a career in the relevant area of video/ media
production in the arts and communications and multimedia industries.
4SSP
This subject covers the skills ICT practitioners need to support the initiation, implementation and
completion of small-scale IT projects. The provision of support within these projects is a key component
of ICT environments.
4DWL
This subject covers the issues involved with creating a large website from beginning to end. It includes
areas such as storyboarding and site design.
4JSB
This subject covers the basic syntax of javascript to enable you to automate client side validation of data
on a web page form. The use of functions is explored and the use of the HTML5 canvas.
3PRB
This subject introduces the programming constructs of sequence, selection and iteration, array handling
and file processing. Small command-line programs are developed using the Visual Studio 2015 C#.NET
