THE SCOPE
This Agreement sets out the terms of the agreement between
Torrens University Australia Limited ABN 99 154 937 005
(“Educational Institution”), the Host Organisation and the Student
(as noted opposite).
The purpose of this agreement is to define the terms of the Work
Integrated Learning (WIL) activities to be undertaken by the Student.
The aim of WIL is to provide students with real life experience,
to develop first-hand knowledge and skills and to complement
classroom based learning.
In signing this agreement, the Host Organisation agrees to provide
WIL for the Student according to the terms agreed below. Any
variations, amendments or cancellations to this agreement must be
by mutual agreement taking into account the needs of all parties.
• Please return to your Educational Institution before WIL
commences (refer contact details under Educational
Institution).
• Student may ONLY start their WIL when they have received
notification of receipt of the completed agreement from the
Host Organisation.
• A copy of relevant insurance Certificates of Currency for the WIL
activities are included in this document.

1. Provide induction/orientation programs for the Student on the
commencement of their WIL.
2. Ensure the environment in which the WIL is to be conducted is
safe and secure for all participants (including the student).
3. Supervise the Student’s involvement in the WIL activities.
4. Advise participants and their parents (if under the age of
18) that photos and/or videos may be taken for assessment record
purposes.
5. Provide feedback on the Student’s work performance to the
Educational Institution’s academic staff.
6. Ensure adequate insurance is in place for the Host Organisation’s
employees, agents, participants and other relevant stakeholders
and that they have been warned of the risks, if any, associated
with the WIL activities.
7. Recognise the Student has study demands outside their WIL
activities to be considered alongside their WIL commitments.
8. Agree to the hours and time frame (including finish dates) for the
WIL as set out above.
9. Meet the obligations of all relevant legislation including workers’
compensation laws, WHS, anti-discrimination, Fair Work Act and
any other relevant laws.

1. Complete induction/orientation programs as required on the
commencement of their WIL activities.
2. Comply with all confidentiality agreements, intellectual copyright
arrangements and workplace security arrangements required by
the Host Organisation.
3. Ensure all appropriate documents requested are submitted to the
Educational Institution in a timely manner for administration of the
WIL activities as required.
4. Ensure a Working with Children Check has been submitted and
approval is obtained prior to commencing the WIL activities if the
participant/s are likely to be under the age of 18.
5. Comply with all Host Organisation conditions such as WIL hours,
punctuality and uniform/work clothing specified by the Host
Organisation and Industry and all directions given by the Host
Organisation during the WIL activities.
6. Act in a professional manner and as directed by the Educational
Institution with reference to the relevant policies and procedures
when undertaking their WIL activities at the Host Organisation.
7. Meet the obligations of legislation that may arise including WHS,
anti-discrimination and any other relevant laws acknowledging
that the Student is not an employee of the Host Organisation.
AGREEMENT FOR WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING
1. Ensure the Student is fully covered by professionalindemnity and/
or personal accident insurance. A copy of this insurance policy is to
be provided to the Host Organisation.
2. Assist and support the Student to become workplace ready prior
to undertaking any WIL activities.
3. Monitor the Student’s WIL arrangements and/or provide on-site
visits.
4. Liaise with the Host Organisation regarding the Student’s progress.
5. Encourage the Student to fulfill course requirements within
the Host Organisation and Industry and remain with the Host
Organisation for the duration of their WIL activities.
6. Meet the obligations of all relevant legislation including worker’s
compensation laws, WHS, anti-discrimination, Fair Work Act and
any other relevant laws.
7. Undertake a risk assessment to ensure workplace meets
University’s standards.
